Our story
Co-founders Jim Knight and Dale Chorba started Vocana in 2021 to end the on-stage tip jar: to build a streaming platform where independent artists are paid by the fans who actually listen, and where fans find music through people.
Every release on Vocana comes from an independent artist, delivered through distributors such as CD Baby, DistroKid, FUGA and Symphonic. Fans, tastemakers and Hubs shape what people hear next. Each subscription is divided among the artists that listener streams: how artist pay works.
